    Computer Fan(S)

    Hello,
I have a concern about the fans inside laptops.
I heard that having computer on your lap or on any other soft surface is bad for the computer and may begin to overheat, causing the fan to not properly function?
also, is it recommended to buy the extra fan stand where theres 3 fans cooling the laptop? or is it not necessary for the maintance of the laptop. ( if it matters, my laptop is the sony VGN-NW235)

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

I believe the dangers may be slightly exaggerated, but a little caution won't hurt. It is not necessary to buy fans and cooling pads for your laptop, unless it gets uncomfortable to use.

What you can do is download Speedfan, and monitor your temperatures. If they get above 70C, you may want to keep an eye on it.

    Hope this helps,

Yeah I agree with JK. Unless your overclocking or pushing your lappy past it's boundries, you shouldn't need extra cooling.
