    well, that's very bad time for ssd, and it would be average time for hdd, and those with 200+ s boot time, are you booting from floppy drive ?

    Check you bios and see if your sata controller is in AHCI mode, If not use this tutorial to change to AHCI mode. Also, check your alignment. look for the verification section.

    26 Second NON-gaming Laptop


    Not too shabby for a notebook Especially with 9 programs in the system tray. Thank goodness for the Intel 520 SSD's!

    ps - I think some people run this with everything disabled either before shutdown or prior to startup. My score is with everything running stock.

    Specs are updated!!


    Got most of the specs updated for you guys. Just got this laptop a few weeks ago. Swapped out the HDD with the very nice SSD from crucial. Makes for a very speedy boot.

    36 seconds boot and 14 seconds shutdown (Event 100 in Event Viewer) = Windows 8 running from a USB3 stick.
