Pretty much rubbish and that is with Soluto running which recorded 51 secs for the boot.

Soluto only records from the time the OS begins to load, Restart times includes shutdown, post and OS loading.

Thank's essenbe. I had realized that. I guess my shutdown time and startup time is influenced by the attached USB drives one of which sleeps, POST which takes about 15 secs and my response time to the dual boot and logon. Soluto estimates it saves me about 16 seconds.

I guess that isn't too bad.
Bios always does the short version hardware check.

    A little better?

Eliminate the hardware check and it would be under 40. 37-39.

I like it the way it is.

That's all that matters. As long as you are happy, it's all good. Reboot also includes shut down and post time. Some motherboards are very slow at post, so no matter what you do, you will never get a real fast restart time. Soluto that Kado was talking about just measures from the time the OS begins to load.

You may like to try Bootracer. It just times the OS.
