Got most of the specs updated for you guys. Just got this laptop a few weeks ago. Swapped out the HDD with the very nice SSD from crucial. Makes for a very speedy boot.
Very nice! The notebook I was using for my test has been returned for a more powerful rig. I'm interested to see the new results when I get my "Beast".

Will be interesting to see the results. My i5 laptop with a 90GB Vertex2 SSD and 6GB of RAM boots faster than my i7 desktop with a 60GB Crucial M4 SSD and 8GB of RAM. But the desktop has a lot more stuff on it.

The new computer I'm getting is also a laptop. The one I was using earlier had the i7 2860QM, two 240GB Intel 520 SSD's and 12GB RAM at 1600MHz. I had to send it back due to SSD performance issues. This replacement should be pretty killer though.

You must have a very short BIOS cycle. I lose most of my time in the BIOS part.

I agree about the bios post time. My computer use to have a 23 second restart time, until I bought a new motherboard. Now the best time I can get is 42 seconds. All the same components, just a different motherboard. This must be the slowest post I've ever had. But, it runs pretty good.

Yea, the BIOS post time is very fast on my pc. It is faster when it restarts, than when it is cold booted because the bios waits for the hard drives to spin up. The Bios post from cold boot is about 14 seconds.

    Nice times!

I'm still getting killed by my bios time. I've updated the BIOS to the most current on ASUS's site. Still sitting at 86 seconds. I'd say at least 40 seconds of this time is waiting for the MOBO to do it's thing.
