Thanks for congratulating, but how good is it concerned?I just went quad core, almost bare-boned services and startup items, page files on both disks, performed various performance tweaks, but still cant get snappy enough.Faster or more RAM?SSD is the final (and most expensive)solution so far...

That is a pretty good time for a spinner. Also, consider that the restart time batch file counts the bios post time also, which you can't control and has nothing to do with the hard drive. To get any faster, you will need an SSD.

That's a good time for a spinner. My time was 67 sec. with a spinner. There is very little, if any, advantage to AHCI with the spinner. I have seen issues where a HDD isn't recognized in AHCI, so personally, I wouldn't bother. A Guy

    Hi everybody!
Here is my restart time on my Asus G74SX-TZ081V :

    - win 7 x64 Home Premium
    - i7 2630qm - 2.0/2.9 ghz
    - 12gb ram ddr3 1333mhz
    - nvidia gtz 560m 3gb gddr5
    - 500gb hdd 7200 rpm (x2)
    (automatic log on at startup)

did a little bit tweak on my services (between viper's safe and tweaked)

i still have a lot of bloatware crap on my pc and have a huge list of useless stuff on startup like bluetooth stuff, sidebar with 4 gadgets and other crap.

when i finish tweaking my pc, i'll post back the result to compare!
Man, had completely forgot about this!

Well, after passing by and remembering it, I tested it again and guess what: exactly the same time, 53 seconds!

So much uninstalling and tweaking for barely nothing. I had already disabled a bunch of services and other stuff, though...

OFF-TOPIC: Spartacus Rules!!! Cant wait for 01/2013, if we survive 21/12/2012!

The Crucial M4 ssd is one amazing ssd. The BIOS posts fast, too.
