mine is moderatly fast compared to the some i see, but i could shave at least 20 seconds off if i didnt mess with it so much to get a hackintosh on my machine. It now goes through at least 4 more boot proccess before it starts the OS, and i dont know how to remove them.

Well... After enabling AHCI my speed dropped from 68 to 65 seconds. I'm still happy with my dual core AMD. Hehe... I can't wait to get my second two RAM modules though, 2GB just insn't enough for me anymore. Lol.

Edit: Oh, and for the record; my PC shuts down in about 5 or 6 seconds, and then my BIOS takes about 5 seconds before it shows anything on the screen... Damn XFX BIOS apparently doesn't like having the CPU overclocked, but my AMD loves it, so I don't mind. AND.... I had to type in a password.

Yeah, it's always hard to quantify and compare some of these numbers. I have an SSD in my desktop, and when I press the power button it takes 9 seconds before the screen comes alive and then takes another 11 seconds to blow through the POST. Then a 2-3 second delay before it says starting windows. So, it's about 23 seconds from button press to Windows even starts loading. But I'm at the logon screen in about 13 seconds due to the SSD.

Now my work laptop, a Dell E6400 gets to booting Windows in a cool 7 seconds from a power button push. But if given a choice of what machine to use...my desktop absolutely obliterates my laptop in terms of performance.. So, using boot times and such simply don't tell the whole story...or even the best parts of the story.
