6 of the best defrag software downloads.

Speed up your boot and program loading times.

Defragmentation software works by moving the fragments around your hard disk drive into a continuous stream. This will, in theory, speed up your boot and program loading times.
If you choose the right package, and schedule it to run once a week in the background when you're not doing anything major on your PC it can work. In fact, we shaved 40 seconds off our boot time.

The defrag software that you get with Windows 7 is a port of a professional grade defragger with all the additional stuff disabled. It works perfectly fine, no need for any other software.

I use TuneUp myself (Trial Copy) but it works great without any problems, I upgraded straight from Vista to Windows 7 so I guess my hdd was slightly fragmented after defragmenting it felt much much better no more lag when opening pictures.
