Bcdedit error message

When I run bcdedit.exe from an elevated command prompt I receive the error:

"The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The system cannot find the file specified."

My understanding is this file is stored in the hidden partition in Windows 7. I have that partition and it status is "healthy". Note that I'm running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium.

Any thoughts about what's going on here will be appreciated.

It turned out the solution to this problem was to assign a drive letter to the Windows 7 hidden partition. Afterward all the settings became available. This also solved my problem of not being able to change the status of DEP to ON for all programs and services. Thanks to the support people at Neosmart forums (the source of EasyBCD).
