    Looking to boost My PC a little


    I think I'm running a little slow.. thinks I do I just want faster... File Transfer, File Loading, All around Speed... I'm not wanted to spend to much but I think it's time to Try... here's my Spec's

    I've uploaded my Everest Sheet.. Thanks for any help or opinions

    You can do a lot by keeping the system clean.

    Run a virus check with Malwarebytes.

    Use CCleaner to clean out your system.

    Uninstall all unnecessary programs from Programs and Features, or use Revo Uninstaller if you feel up to it.

    Defragment your hard drive for good measure.

    Vacuum the dust out of your case, to avoid overheating issues.

    Follow Jonathan_King good advice.

    A few add-on's for good maintenance.

    Check your ram.
    Memory Diagnostics Tool
    Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

    Check your HD.

    SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
    Disk Check

    Check with a hard drive diagnostic tools.

    thanks again for this info... also what would cause this... when I transfer a File from one folder to another Sometimes it locks up for about 1-2 mins. Folders show Not Responding.. then it finally goes though?.. I have a fresh install of Windows 7

    You may want to test your hard drive, using the link theog posted.

    ok will run that, but I have a brand new Seasgate 1tb boot drive , and a Brand New WD 1tb?..

    Ran HDD and memory Test All's good? but it still Does the Problem I have.. not all the time but happens alot... I also noticed that if I Drag & Drop a folder into another Folder it will do the lock up thing but if I click back then forward again it's Tranfered?? no lockup? Maybe Motherboard? CPU?
