Building a 'High Performance' Windows 7 PC

Having reviewed spazzies' posts I think this can be said to be a case of a simple troll...

Honestly you persist in this argument to no avail...I am beginning to wonder if you actually manage a "reasonable" amount of computers at all...I am a IT Professional at WCU and we manage well over 10,000 PCs. That argument about "Businesses not adopting Vista due to resource usage" is old and not applicable. The real truth about it is the fact that businesses place IT at the back of their budgets and when it was seen that they *might* have to replace some of that superfluous old hardware i.e. spend money not on themselves for once...businesses had a cow. In respect to WCU...we have more issues out of XP machines than the Vista ones...namely viruses and uptime. The university has killed XP off almost and are planning a 100% rollout of 7

*MY* PC does work like a charm but that is irrelevant since I don't manage 10,000 PC's....

And while I'm waiting a whole few seconds extra here and there for application x to do task y, I shall use those whole few seconds extra to ruminate and lament the performance loss that the vast swathe of improvements and functionality have cost me.

Excellent Point. I expect that as business start to see the benefits of win7 they will put more budget into changing over than keeping XP. Most all business kept XP and didn't go to Vista because of the cost of implementing a complete system change and the lack of business related improvements. vista is great for home systems and I have friends with it on their laptops. Windows 7 is great for home systems as well, but there is more potential for it to be a great business platform as well.
