    encdec.dll

    What is encdec.dll?

    Windows Process Description:

The endec method provided by the endec.dll module implements the endec device, which both encodes and decodes. The endec device using the same or separate circuitry or algorithm can perform encoding and decoding.

The endec.dll module is related to the endec encoder device used for encoding a bitstream or other signal or data into a form acceptable for transmission or storage. It is similarly related to a decoder which is a device used to undo encoding so that the original information can be retrieved from the bitstream or other signal or data.

The endec device is generally different from a codec. An endec is typically considered hardware, while the codec is identified with software. The word "encoding" is usually associated with hardware whereas "coding" is usually used with regard to software.

The endec.dll file contains functions essential in communications and information processing. In implementing encoding functions, it implements the process by which a source (object) performs conversion of information into data, which is sent to a receiver (observer) such as a data processing system. When performing its decoding tasks, the endec.dll file implements functions that reverse the process of converting data. From the data processing system, it retrieves the original data and converts it into information understandable by a receiver.

Encoding has been defined as the process of putting a sequence of characters into a specialized format for efficient transmission or storage. On the other hand, decoding is the opposite process - it converts an encoded format back into the original sequence of characters. The endec device thus performs both functions and makes the encoding-decoding process less tedious, speedy and efficient.

The process involved in encoding and decoding generally refers to analog-to-digital conversion and digital-to-analog conversion. Thus, encoding-decoding can apply to any of data, including text, images, audio, video, multimedia, computer programs, or signals in sensors, telemetry, and control systems.

    Hello Zachary,

In addition, for each file that SFC cannot fix, you can extract that file from your Windows 7 installation disc to use to replace your current copy with.

Extract Files from Windows 7 Installation DVD

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
