I don't think it's crucial for Windows and it certainly won't give any of the devices a boost. However it is nice to have the rating so you know how good your PC is.

Is this thread now solved, why don't you do the honours billodada?

My Windows Index Rating is not computing succesfully .
Im really tired of it and becoz of that window aero desktop feature also not working
here is error log please help me out i shell be very thankfull to you
Welll... you could just go into Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance and turn it on manually.
No its wont work even i select best appearence setting.
in past my windows 7 working very well and i have 5.9 video card rating my aero desktop feature not working becz of unsuccessfull computing of index rating.
If you go at it manually... with the individual checkboxes you should be able to force it on... I turned it on in an ACER Aspire without running a performance rating at all... I don't see why it wouldn't work for you.

Just last question windows index rating really help to increase our system features?
Realistically, only the Graphics / Gaming Graphics has an impact on features. Score below 3.0 and Aero cannot be enabled.

As for not being able to fully rate your system, try deleting the contents of:

    C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore

One of the tests may have become corrupted. If it still fails to fully rate, then you have an issue elsewhere.

Frankly I wouldn't worry about it. The WEI number is just a number... it's more gimmick than anything else. Anyone who takes the time to work through their system's settings can both enable missing features and improve windows performance... without Microsoft's "dialogs for dummies" approach.
