The video playback issue was one of the great improvements, in my view, in moving from 7068 to 7077; I have an HVR-2250 in the box, and an HDHomeRun on the network - I finally get six tuners (3 QAM, 2 NTSC, & 1 ATSC) detected correctly, operating correctly, and, finally, giving me flawless, artifact-free HD, including DTS audio; my only complaint is that it now takes five seconds before getting a picture when switching from one tuner (not from one channel on the same tuner) to another; also, I've noticed that the ATI ninepointfour drivers will sometimes lose a monitor (of four) when returning from full-screen MC...

Source switching timeout is a configurable property with DirectShow in 7. Now I just have to remember where to find it...

I managed to install almost all drivers.
I also installed the newest drivers for my Nvidia Geforce 7300 SE

I am experiencing very very slow performance on all types of videos, encoded with different codecs.
Worst is on 720p and 1080p AVI, MKV, M2TS, MP4 etc

I tried most of the famous codecs. For now the best is Divx 7.1
I also tried with ffdshow2009, ac3, dts decoders;
also the recommended in this forum
Win7codecs_v107 + Win7x64Components_v115
still the same thing.

I tried most of the famous players.

It is slightly better if I decrease the desktop to 800x600

So on some videos I experience 2.7 fps !!!
That is 1 of 10 frames displayed.
Even the old style 1000kbs videos appear on frames

On xp all these were running fluently.
On my laptop (a much weaker machine) with Windows 7 - 32bit they also run better (although not as good as with XP)

I tried almost everything. And even with the fastest codec and the fastest player, and the worst settings, the performance is terrible.

Any suggestions will be wellcome.

Im feeling I ll have to go back to XP for the next 1-2 years ...
Install klite standard and then run codec tweak tool, then set media player classic to output in overlay mode.

Thanks to all posts! Especially the last one.

Klite helped A LOT. It boosted both 32 and 64bit players.

Now the performance is at least 5 times better.

I will do a clean install with the 32bit OS also. Obviously in my case it will run better.

I installed 32-bit Windows 7.

As I expected on my system a 32-bit OS is much faster.

The drivers for my wirless Logitech LX 700 keyboard still dont work though ..
Thats weird because I personally saw it working with an older 32bit Win 7 release
