Windows 7 slowly becoming slow!

Well, I also have good specs.. i5 with 4 cores, 4gb ddr3 ram!! so I can say, it's not a problem with my computer..it's a problem in windows i guess!! so i'm gonna format my pc soon(maybe tday) and disable automatic update.. then let's see what will happen...

I also faced this problem with my current Desktop.

It used to slow down every month and in the end opening a few windows would make it very slow.

I reverted back to Vista Last week. It runs roughly 5 times Faster than Windows 7.

Opens everything instantly uses even lesser resources. 300MB lowest ever recorded.

If possible try installing Vista and check the difference in performance.

looks like you have way to much running in the background, are you really using all of these applications at the same time? if your not using on a daily basis or instantly after start up i would disable photoshop as well as one of your web browsers eather firefox or exploror dont see why you would need want both unless your using somthing that firefox does not support or somthing. and also live messenger and side bar unless your use side bar, disable media player from running as well unless like i said your using all of these applications at the same time. I personally dont use it but its your computer. just figure out what you use and dont use and drop what you dont use often. Also what i did was i looked up alot of the other stuff that is runing just out of curiousity just to make sure it was stuff i actually need running. I am in no way an expert and im just giving my personal opinion to you on what i would do if that was my task manager window.

You've got to click on 'Show processes from all users' to get the full list of 55 processes. I'd like to know why Firefox is using so much memory, mine only uses about 70Mb. I don't think the number of processes is too much of a problem, mine has 49 and it runs quicker than quick.

Nero alone is enough to cause this problem. It's by far the worst program of all time. It's famous for taking over your entire system and is worse than any spyware or malware infection known to man. There are many burning programs available to replace Nero that don't have nearly as much overhead. This problem has NOTHING to do with Windows 7!
