    OK, now don't let all that scare you.

    That's why its best to see what filters you do have installed and then you can bounce them against your burning programs.

    You can then delete the filters that are not needed based on what you have installed.

    If you just go and delete all the upper and lower filters you will find that none of your burn programs will work until you reinstall the all again.

    Hmmm ok. Well kipper I will post the screen shot of the available filters(ImgBurn and registry). Sorry, will take another 6 hrs approx as I am in office and don't have access to my home PC :).

    Filters look clean.

    Do you have another Burner that you can toss in the system?

    I am thinking that you are experiencing a dieing drive.

    Hey kipper thanks for the reply. Dying drive eh?? Well another burning software, let me dig up some of my s/w collection. Well kipper does this happen in a dying drive. I mean the drive plays and reads all the DVD's but not CD ROM's

    Hi u all..... i got the same problem my DVD drive is not reading CD, Its been 1 month and i hav tried all possible things... but in vain... lastly i changed the drive letter name.... and after restart it worked but.... only 1 time... and now its not working.... and i want to ask that in my registry.. upper filter and lower filter are not located....


    if anyone got a solution plzzzzzz post it.........
