is it okay to activate page file only on C: drive? what's the disadvantage?

The page file will work fine on C drive. The advantages of having it on another drive is to reduce disk access when using applications.
Its ok, but not ideal.
If you have the pagefile set with variable min/max settings then it will likely cause fragmentation of the drive slowing the access times up after a while. Ideally you want the pagefile on its own hard drive if you can afford that or on a dedicated partition on a second hard drive.
Ive moved both pagefile and indexing off c: drive to help alleviate useage of c:.
thanks, so I better put a pagefile on each partition right?
You only need one pagefile and it can be anywhere you desire.
okay, I just put one pagefile on C: which is in my Seagate80GB(contains C: & D: )
and another one on I: which is in my Seagate160GB(contains I: & J: ). That's what u guys mean, isn't it?
Pagefile on a second partition on the same HDD is no advantage. Then let it on your C: partition.
If you have a second HDD it is a small advantage to put it there.... if u don t have two HDDs... let it on C:
okay, I get it, thank u guys.
