It's funny- I've tried OC'ing the CPU; got it up to 3.00 Ghz; it didn't make any difference at all in the WEI score (so I just set it back to stock).
    Now, why would that be?
It's a funny thing, but it seems that My AMD Athlon 64 X2 Black edition shows WEI of 6.2 @ Stock 3.2GHz but when I clock it to 3.298GHz it scores 6.3. I think that there is 0.1 available WEI score on Dual cores. It seems a little more on Quad Cores.
I'd be interested to hear what results others have had when O'Cing CPU and how WEI scores the tune up.

Just built this system. I'm a little dissapointed with the hard drive score as it's letting down the whole score. However I've got a feeling that one of the drives is failing as my windows installation on that drive is very slow, and sometimes grinds to a halt completely (and this happened after a new install). My windows installaton on a different drive is as fast as lightning, so I suspect a failing drive is giving me a bad score.

    Can't get past 7.8

Hello W7 Forums, this is my first post.

My workstation consists of a SuperMicro X8DTH, 2x Intel Xeon X5677, 12GB DDR3, 5x OCZ Vertex 2 SSDs in RAID-0, and a single eVGA 480GTX. It is used for video editing.

I get 7.8s on all benches except the disk transfer rate. I OC'd the 480GTX to 900+ and the 7.8 won't move. Could it be the PCIe interface of the MB being only x8? I am planning on upgrading to a 580GTX, but have seen others get 7.9s on a 480GTX.

Also, I have not tried OCing the Xeons. I'm not certain softfsb will work. I installed Intel Turbo Boost software, and during the benchmarks, the Turbo utility doesn't hit the 3.73GHz max speed of the Xeons.

    Thanks for any advice.

@Dave76: Thanks. Not in the PI, but in OC, CA. I hope to be expat-ing myself back to PI though... [I decided to put up the flag because I feel the RP doesn't get enough tech recognition is deserves...]

Well, I decided to switch from the SuperMicro board to an Asus Z8PE-D12X which has a x16 slot. I might be able to put that in tonight.
