@Dave76: Thanks. Not in the PI, but in OC, CA. I hope to be expat-ing myself back to PI though... [I decided to put up the flag because I feel the RP doesn't get enough tech recognition is deserves...]

Well, I decided to switch from the SuperMicro board to an Asus Z8PE-D12X which has a x16 slot. I might be able to put that in tonight.

I have to agree, there are very good techs in the RP.

Good luck with the new mobo.

Thanks, I didn't do it just for the WEI, but I know I won't have rebuild it for a long time. I like tinkering with things. It was my first build.

Windows 7 64 bit WEI, Compaq Presario CQ62-225NR Notebook

Here's my WEI for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Compaq Presario CQ62-225NR notebook with 15.6" BrightView LED display

CPU is AMD Athlon II P320 2.1 GHz Dual-Core

    Paid $379 new at Staples

Came with factory installed 3GB PC3-10600 1333 MHz RAM. I upgraded to 4GB. ~15% speed improvement.

Totally satisfied with this as desktop replacement.

Will be upgrading to AMD N620 CPU, 2.8 GHz dual core. (This laptop will take even quad core AMD CPUs).

I need a big SSD 256GB at least and want to get a good one wihich will cost about £500 so that will come maybe at a later date, I want to get a Blu-Ray Rewriter drive after the new core 1st, So maybe get the SSD for Xmas next year.
