    My new computer:

    UEFI + GPT + AHCI

    Intel Core i7 860
    AMD Radeon 5750
    2x2 GB DDR3-1333
    Intel DP55WB
Intel X25-V (I'm going to use this until Intel's 25nm drives come out)
Nice new computer, very nice scores

We have the same SSD and the same SSD plan, my -V is going to the second HD bay on my laptop hopefully by the end of the year.

The GeForce 257.29 drivers gave me a little (0.1) bump in graphics, and turning off turbo in my bios bumped up my processor score from 7.3 to 7.4. Not huge jumps, admittedly, but still an improvement. Gonna OC my video card once I get a better cooling system, and bump the processor up a little more. Should probably look at getting an SSD sometime soon.

Any increase, is a good increase.

That Primary hard disk score is kinda low for those two HDDs.
    Are you using AHCI settings?
    Somethings not right there.

You will be very happy with a SSD.

If you put all of your personal data, files, pics, music, etc. on your HDD you can use a small SSD.
This is what I've been doing for years, data in another partition, so using a small 40GB SSD is easy for me.
OS and all programs are 15.2GB used and 21.9GB free.

It's a noticeable performance increase , I'll never go back to a HDD for my main OS.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking about doing. I would have 1 SSD and 3 HDD in my machine. SSD for the OS and programs, 2 1TB disks...one for file backup and one for system backup, and then a spare 350GB for whatever.

    Thanks.

I've been considering whether upgrading to a SSD drive would be worth the investment?

Is it really that much of an increase in performance?

From what I hear, yes.....everything opens almost instantly. But I haven't ever had the chance to try one myself.

The amount of happy campers would tend to suggest it is
