It also serves as a psychological incentive to buy more hardware
well it worked, first the new graphics card and now a new HDD? when will it ever end?

It doesn't. When you finally get what you wanted, there's a whole new line of stuff that's 10 times better. Then you start all over.

Yes, the numbers look good, and of course, the performance you can feel is what's best. A Guy

If you have the means, I would get an SSD for the Windows/boot drive not a HDD.

As mentioned, it never ends, there's always something newer, bigger and better.

I have to agree with Bare Foot Kid, a SSD will get you past that 5.9 bottleneck.

There are several good SSDs for just over $100, a good sale may be below that.

If you go that route, do your research, not all SSDs are created equal

TBH, it's the best upgrade I've ever done.

I'd have to be dragged back, kicking and screaming, to a HDD for my OS.

HDDs are great for data and backup image storage

Strange, but WEI improved over time

I ran my WEI after several months without any changes to hardware or software. Surprisingly while my overall WEI is the same, quite a few of my individual ratings improved. It's got to be Microsoft adjusting their calibration. my two lowest scores which haven't changed, are in processing speed and hard drive speed. This is even though my processor i960 is running at 4.5 MHz and I am using Intel 160 SSD's. Go figure.
