My score went from 5.9 to 7.4 just by getting an SSD drive

Nice scores, SSDs are a great performance upgrade.

    Enjoy.

    Something odd going on..

So I decided to mess around with my old pc
    Asus S2E@ 3.6
    4GB Patriot DDR2
    3x Nvidia 280 GTX
    2x Intel X25G2 60GB Raid 0

I did a clean windows install all patches then installed Nvidia system drivers and video drivers.

    WEI Score of
    7.4
    7.4
    7.6
    7.6
    7.6

I installed the old 197.45 drivers and my video score went up to 7.9 7.9

I then reinstalled the 258.96 drivers and WEI stays at 7.9 7.9

Last thing Im wondering is I had a 7.6 on storage with 1 Intel X25G2 Im now running 2 of them in raid 0 and It didnt go up at all..
Great numbers...but don't fret over the WEI scores, they are fickle and inaccurate. Only a rough estimate I'd say. As suggested, you'd want to use some performance or benchmarking programs to judge actual performance at that level. A Guy

Agreed I view wei as a general guide. However its pointing to a general issue of some sort. Another thing I noticed is when I ran Prime 95 it passes fine. When I run LinX the nvidia driver stops responding and recovers LinX is still running fine. I'm not sure how LinX is impacting my video cards.

Message received! Right now I'm using a HDD and scoring 5.9 as you used to.

Has anyone hit the 7.9 WEI score yet? Just curious. I keep seeing the hard disk as the limiting factor. What's the highest anyone has gotten there and what's the configuration?

Im not sure tbh i dont think i have ever seen a legit score like that, here is an interesting thread on the topic What does it take to get 7.9 in Windows 7? - Page 6 - XtremeSystems Forums it seems even a i7-980x will still only get a 7.8,

I saw this a little while ago about the new OCZ Revo Drives

This guy gets a 7.9 for his YouTube - Few Benchmarks with OCZ RevoDrive 120gb Pcie SSD
