My computer is starting and running quite slow it is getting old, but still can run most applications.

Windows 7 Ultimate (32)
ATI Radeon DH 3450
I don't play much games on it nowadays mostly use if for development, but...
My Computer has slow down.....i am using norton Anti-virus checked for viruses not found deleted all and...........i am using windows 7 64-bit...........Asus p7h55-v mobo 4gb ram core i3 processor 500gb hdd.........i dont know why it happened i have tried reinstalling windows........nothing...
Through the windows experience im at 7.8's / 7.4's... with my hdd at 5.9. looking at getting a ssd to level everything up.... but what i dont know is... how does the read/write speeds translate into processing.
what read speed is equal to the rest of my rig? I just dont know how it translates...
