    My Downloads folder

Hi, My downloads folder is on my desktop AND in my documents. If I delete it on the desktop, the one in the documents also disappears. What the hell is going on? Doesn't it slow the computer if such a large file is on the desktop? How do I get rid of it from the desktop?

Can you delete from documents and then drag the desktop to documents?

Make sure you always have backups before making changes.

Nope... It's like they are connected, they both link to the same location with the same files and when I delete the other, they both disappear.

Try this. from out great tut collection. These are veryhelpful

User Folders - Restore Default Location

How did you get this to happen? When?

If you read the tut carefully, you will see what to do in the event of duplicate folders.
