    Disk Cleanup

Suddenly my Disk Cleanup will not start using Disk Cleanup.exe. I now have to go to Start>Run>cleanmgr to get it to start and that won't pin to the Start Menu which is where I want it.

Using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

    Welcome to the Forum,

If you type it in search, right click and then pin, does it do the trick?

Yes. I can re-pin it to the start Menu, but it still will not run from there. Once re-pinned I can no longer unpin it. I can only delete the file entirely.

Could that exe file be corrupt? If so, how can I replace it?

Lets try the easy things first

Go to search type cmd, then do not hit enter. Go to cmd and right click and run as administrator

In the cmd prompt type this >sfc /scannow.

    The tell me what happens.

    This should replace bad files

Remove the period from the command. It opened the help file because it couldn't interpret the command correctly.
