    A disk different name in Disk Defragmenter?

    I want to use disk defragmenter for my system performance but in there I saw there disk;

    1. C:
    2. D:

    and one it is like

    3: \\?\ Volume(------)

    ------- : In here, there is something (598f8g8-ufsye4-aasdrhg-........) like this.

    What is this section? Should I defrag it too or should I didn't touch? I'm very surprised when I see and I went to suspicious. Thanks a lot for your replies.

    I'm thinking that would be the system reserved partition. Your don't need to worry about defragmenting this drive.

    Could also be a virtual drive. Do you have Daemon Tools, Alcohol or such like?

    Uber Philif,

    Maybe, I point it like you but I'm aware of touch it and I want to know it clearly. How can I understand it is System Reserved disk? How can I change it name?

    Thanks for your reply.

    Bill2,

    I don't have any Virtual Drive.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I don't think it's possible to change it's name, seeing as it's under system control, and doing so may have adverse effects.

    One way to tell if it's the System Reserved partition, is that it should be roughly 100MB.
