I don't bother with WEI scores as I think they are like a game or gimmick and not an accurate measurement of performance which is what all I care about.

So I was only focusing on performance of the HD, and whether the low score might be suggesting it could use some cleaning and ordering which to me is always a good thing that needs regular (monthly) maintenance, and testing which I always suggest if there are complaints.

I am still learning about hard drive throughputs so thanks for the lesson.

The WEI score is an indicator devised by microsoft to indicate the suitability of a system to perform certain tasks - and partly to provide links to their other available software

The only useful purpose it serves, IMO, is a quick and dirty guide that a system is running correctly - take the initial readings and then check as required - if it has changed dramatically then you can investigate the cause.

The WEI score can become a bragging issue between friends, but as this can be manually adjusted even the e-pean factor is less than important.

I would suggest to the OP that they use the system and if they have any real world issues then look into them on an issue by issue basis.

The WEI is an indication and only that - it is not something to worry about - the hard disk rating is reasonable and given the other components the system is a good one - yes it can be improved but I would not worry about this just for the sake of a WEI score

Nigel, I tried to rep the post above but have to spread some rep around first, so I'm taking this public way to thank you.

You tend to go straight to the point, say what needs to be said. Thank you.
