thanks for the reply but the info on that link is ok it means there is a way to fix on XP so there must be a way on Win7 just got to wait for someone to find.

I would try the method on the link but the windows update that you have to use with the .bat might only be configured to works with how windows XP is setup and not Win7.

I will keeps searching maybe someone else on the forum for a way to sort it or recognizes one of the services in the screenshot that is slowing down my pc.

I just checked my computer processes and svchost is not there at all. I am using home premium and I thought svchost was only there in Windows XP. Maybe you are running Windows ultimate which supports XP and hence, you are seeing the svchost process but I have never had any problem ever since I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7.

Are you sure svchost.exe isnt there because it only shows up in Task Manager when you have the box ticked for Show Processes For All Users.

but if your right if i keep having problem i could install Home edition maybe that will solve the problem. I dont use the XP Mode any way.

High CPU Usage Due to svchost.exe
So this problem just happened out of the blue today. I was just browsing with my desktop and it just so happens that I noticed the jittery/laggy movement of my cursor occasionally. So I checked the Task Manager and noticed that svchost is putting my CPU usage at 50%~75% constantly. The high CPU...

svchost.exe High CPU usage 98% of at least one CPU.
I have had that message a couple of times whilst on the Forum. Haven't noticed it when I am doing anything else. Here's the info I get when I click on more details; Here's a screenshot of Process Explorer which I think indentifies the problem. I'm just not sure what to do to rectify this. ...

Excessive CPU usage by svchost.exe
I have noticed one machine in our office has always had excessive fan noise, and when I looked into it further I found that one of the svchost.exe processes listed in Task Manager runs with at least 13% CPU usage at all times, constantly. Sometimes it's much higher. The CPU never gets down to an...

svchost (secsvcs) 100% CP usage
Every time I use it, my PC hits 100% CP usage at some stage (with pathetic squeaks from the PSU). This is always attributable to svchost (secsvcs): if I stop this process the usage returns to 1 or 2% and the problem goes away until I next start up. Is there anyway to prevent this particular process...

I've attached a screenshot from ProcessExplorer. Notice the high activity svchost.exe I had just closed another application, and this lasted for a few minutes. It then went to zero. How do I determine what is actually going on here? I have Dual Core 3ghz & 4GB RAM running 7RC with no...
