Restoring files on another computer
I had a problem on my computer where I could not boot windows. After I turned the computer off and back on, it gave me the option to run the launch repair tool, which I did. Somehow I got into Recovery, which gave me an option of backing up my files (pictures, music, mail, etc.) which I did. It created 7 DVD's of backed up data. After I did that, I did a system restore, which didn't fix the problem, but that's another story.
I'm trying to restore the backed up files on another Windows 7 computer. Backup & Restore says that it can't find a backup point (which is true as I didn't do the backup on that computer). The DVD's contain .WIM files. How do I restore these files to my new computer? Thanks for the help. |

Welcome to the forums, DNewell
You can mount the WIM file and then you will be able to access the contents: WIM File - Extract and Modify |
