    Clear windows update file


    Hello
    I want to clear my windows update log because its full of MSE updates and a few failed updates. I dont want to uninstall anything just tidy the list up.I know the file is in software distribution but some people say clear DOWNLOADS folder and others DATASTORE folder. Anyone know whick one is correct.Also do i need to stop any services first ie Update

    Sorry forgot to answer your question - downloaded updates are always kept in the
    %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder

    So would clearing the download folder empty the update list or remove the update from the system.I dont want to remove anything just clean up the list.In some posts it says to empty the datastore folder im confused lol
