    here is some more issues regarding cpu at 100%


    hey all I am posting some SS of the task manager I see alot of processes running but being a noob I am a little confused as to what needs to run and what doesnt perhaps some one can offer some help as to what to try

    Another handy screenshot would be of the Task Manager processes. Although I can see that Windows Defender is taking a large chunk of CPU usage.

    Check the highlighted area for any high CPU figures

    no i dont think so i use a cooling pad but i will monitor the fan

    Go into 'msconfig', then clip on startup to see what you have starting up. Close all applications that you feel are unnecessary. One of the problems is application developers for some reason feel they need to have their software up and running as soon as your machine starts. You can experiment with closing down all or just some to see if this helps your processor problem; something to remember if it indicates it is an MS app then think twice before turning off. Mouse and keyboard drivers from MS can be turned off if necessary (those you have added yourself). Good Luck. . .

    thanx man I did that first and nothing running but my nvidia, mouse, windows, some ghost in the machine, I have a dual core but its only seeing 1 thats a sign of bad news to come!!

    Hope your still not having problems.

    The one processor running is normal. My system has 4 and the boot section of msconfig indicates only one, however, you can change that by going into "Advance Options" and setting the number of processors to suit you machine. In general I haven't seen any great speed by resetting it to four.
