    HDD constantly seeking

    Greetings,

I have a new install with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on an SSD and my programs and data on a HDD.

When I installed the system, I had set it so that there would be no defrag, cache cleanup, or tune-up activity. In fact, I follow sets of directions on how to turn off functions so that the SSD would not have constant cleanup activity and I applied them to my HDD, as well. I also turned those capabilities off in my Norton 360 anti-virus and firewall software. Still, my HDD is constantly seeking. It starts to run and seek for whatever from the first the system boots. The HDD is good. It is working as it should. I just don't know what to deactivate so that it stops its chatter. Can someone make a suggestion as to what I might check and deactivate?

    Thank you.

Search,( by the startup button), and type task scheduler. That is the brain behind all scheduled tasks. If you are in an administrtive account you can make changes from there.
