The higher VIDs will allow it to run better at full load, but IIRC (could be wrong) both the Xeons and the C2Ds were made with the same. The VID just varies randomly.

Problems with Windows 7 not Sleeping Correctly

I've had Windows 7 working perfect for awhile. Now recently it started sleeping weird. I put it to sleep, then an hour later i come back and it's awake again. I wantz it to stay sleeping!

I believe you're mistaken. The Xeon E3110 is a wolfdale. EXACTLY the same as the C2D E8400. No difference. Just a different name.
