Check the stock CPU fan...if it is loose or hanging...your Proc is overheating...that happened to me last year...I bought an aftermarket fan and never had the issue reoccur.

Have you considered changing the CMOS battery? Maybe it burned out...once you change that...you might be able to tell if the BIOS is configured correctly for the monitor or disc drive...
