    Keep in mind that PC Tools Spyware Doctor includes the Google Toolbar. Uncheck it at install if you don't want it.

    Personally I have tried black Ice ,several different versions on mcafee,norton,F-Secure, several versions of free antivirus ..and I finally decided on Avast antivirus,and Malwarebytes antimalware I have been useing these for a couple years now and I am completly satisfied with them.no one could ever change my mind.But again ...Thats Just Me.Jerry

    You might also want to check out A Squared. That found a trojan on my new laptop that MalwareBytes missed.

    I use Malwarebytes and MSE but couldn't tell you if they are any good because they have never found anything on my systems. I've tried most of the popular anti-virus/malware software out there. I run an occasional scan with Malwarebytes. Once a month I will install MSE and run a scan then uninstall it. There is a difference in performance. I do have Windows firewall turned on.
