Trouble with Microsoft Security Essentials
I wanted to unsinstall my Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), to test something, but I got the error below...I used Revo Uninstaller to remove it, as I have had similar issue before. The thing here is that, when I went to install MSE the same error occured...how can I fix this?

1. Download MSE from the website and save the file on the Desktop.
2. Open Command Prompt through RUN or Start Search by typing CMD hit enter. If you are using Vista right click on CMD and select "Run as Administrator".
3. In the Command Prompt console type: CD %USERPROFILE%\Desktop <- Hit ENTER
4. Type: msse <- then hit the TAB button.
5. Depending on your Operating System, after hitting tab it should either appear as any of the three below:
mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-xp.exe
mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-vista-win7
mssefullinstall-amd64fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe
6. Now put a space in between the whole line and put /U as seen below:
mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-xp.exe /U
mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-vista-win7 /U
mssefullinstall-amd64fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe /U
7. Hit ENTER and this should uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials.
8. After the uninstall you can now attempt installation. It would be best that you restart your system first after the uninstall.
note: i didnt find this myself

joel,
Disconnect from the Internet.
Install MSE.
Success or failure?

Neither of those two ways, gives any different result...

Error code 64C is for an installation path or source which could not be found. This usually occurs when the Update for MSE passed through Windows Update and does not complete successfully.
To help you resolve this download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup tool from this location first:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...bd/msicuu2.exe
Make sure that you run the file as Administrator in Windows Vista.
To do this, you need to right click on the installation file and choose "Run as Administrator".
After it installs Look for an entry in "All Programs" for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
A Window should appear. Select ONLY Microsoft Antimalware from the list then hit Remove .
Close the window.
