    Toshiba laptop

    Hi

Recently I bought the Toshiba Satellite C650D-11R, and I'd like to know what on earth Toshiba has installed on my poor laptop.

Here's a logfile generated by CCleaner of my startup programs:

TOSHIBA Online Product Information: Downloads Help Desk documents. Disable and run manually as needed.
Google Update: Starts and quits. Disable as Google also installs task manager tasks for updating.
StartCCC: Disable. Makes CCC look like it starts faster by preloading most of it. I'm voting for legislation to end this practice as it's downright evil. If your app is a bloated hog and starts slow FIX IT!
ToshibaServiceStation: Try running without it. I run Toshiba laptops all the time with just 7 installed and nothing performs badly. Run it manually and see what it does.
Adobe Reader: Another evil preloader. Uninstall Acrobat reader entirely and install Sumatra PDF.
Adobe ARM: Disable. Uninstall all Adobe products that you did not manually install.
mcui_exe: Uninstall Norton 360 demo and install Microsoft Security Essentials (FREE!).
NBAgent: If you use Nero for backups don't disable. Otherwise it's history.
TWebCamera: That little camera sidebar thing. Nice to have but camera works without it.
SmartAudio: Disable and see if your SmartAudio continues to function normally.
TPwrMain: Toshiba Power Manager. You might use a little more battery without it.
SmoothView: Monitor Zooming stuff. Disable if your don't use it.
00TCrdMain: Press your Fn key. See that hotkey display at the top of the screen? This task does that.
SynTPEnh: Advanced stuff for your Synaptics Touchpad. Most people wouldn't miss it.
TosReelTimeMonitor: Indexer for ReelTime, a media search toy.
TosNC: Message Center. Displays popups that Toshiba thinks are important.
Toshiba TEMPRO: Driver updater: TEMPRO HELP - Toshiba
SmartFaceVWatcher: Facial recognition. Checks if you are in front of the computer and if lot locks it. Disable if you don't use.
TosSENotify: SMART HDD monitoring as best I can tell...
TosVolRegulator: Automatically increases volume in noisy environments and reduces volume in quiet ones.
Toshiba Registration: Registration reminder. Trash it.
    TRDCReminder.lnk More nagware. Delete.

Ahem just one tiny little problem... I can't scroll with my mouse pad, and enabling the Synetic thingy in the system start programs doesn't work. Which of the disabled programs would fix this? :

Edit, hm I might have uninstalled it lol it's not appearing in Uninstall programs... where do I download it? Googling "Toshiba Synthetic Download" doesn't work

Yes HKLM:Run SynTPEnh %programFiles%\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe I think this is your touch pad, I was going to suggest to just go to Toshibia web site and re-install the touch pad drivers but I don't see your exact modle # listed. At least in the Toshiba U.S. Toshiba Support - Homepage Or UK site Have you turned it off and tried it after restating it? This is the one I think may be causing the problem

My Toshiba Satellite C50 laptop came with just as much bloatware. At some point you gotta ask yourself why they even invest into developing such crappy apps D:
