Delete Network Magic icon from desktop?

Network Magic came installed as a 30-day trial when I upgraded from Vista to Win7 (why did I ever wait so long?). I've uninstalled it by getting into Pure Networks/Setup...etc; that is, I think I did the appropriate uninstall. However, I can't get rid of its Network Magic Folders icon on my desktop. I can't even move the icon off the desktop. Suggestions?

These should work after checking again that the program has been removed.1. Drag and Drop to Recycle Bin. 2. Right click on the icon and go to delete. Now here are a couple of crazy ones that I have done and they worked. 1a. Right click and go to Send TO, next send it some place, floppy, thumb drive, if it works format floppy/thumb drive. 2a. Right click and email it to yourself and when received delete the email. One that knows the registry would do it there but I'm not one of them with the proper knowledge.

Right click only gives Open and Create a Shortcut, and nothing else (no Delete, Move, Send...). The icon won't drag/drop. Also, as the program itself no longer exists, clicking any of the options does nothing. I've also tried File Assasin, to no avail. Next?

EDIT: BTW, when trying to use FileAssassin, I couldn't even get the Network Magic file to show up in FA's Open field. Also, while in FA and trying to get the NM file into Open, the NM file was listed as a "system" file...for whatever that means?

You could try KillBox. It's under 100kb in size and doesn't install so it's worth a quick look.

Thanks, but personally, I don't think any of these apps will work. What I need is someone who is familiar with this specific file problem.

I have something that I have no idea if it will work but it sure can't hurt anything. Use the built in Windows 7 Disk Cleanup.
    From Help and Support.
If you want to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, use Disk Cleanup. It removes temporary files, empties the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of system files and other items that you no longer need. For more information about deleting files from the Recycle Bin, see Permanently delete files from the Recycle Bin.

Deleting this reg key did the trick:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{C55C499D-3518-44a1-998E-796AC5FC989D}]
    @="NetworkMagic
