    VLC media player 1.1.3/1.1.4 released.


    Changelog:

    - Access and demuxers:
    * fixes for FTP relatives path and FTP directory support
    * fix for podcasts parsing
    * DVD: fix an assert error and various memory leaks

    - Taglib:
    * fix NULL dereferences, as reported by FortiGuard Lab, CVE-2010-2937 / VideoLAN-SA-1004

    - Playlist:
    * fix a regression where the wrong entry was played
    * fix m3u playlists exports

    - Skins2:
    * fix video autoresize behaviour

    - Translations:
    * Update translations for Dutch, Sinhala, Hebrew, Estonian, Spanish and Bengali

    - Windows and Mac:
    * Update of many codecs libraries, fixing bugs and improving speed

    - Mac:
    * architecture-specific installations will now be replaced by specific updates

    - BSD:
    * Add AltiVec detetion for OpenBSD/powerpc

    A bit after the 1.1.3, an important security issue was discovery in most windows applications, and VLC is affected too. Since security issues matters, here is a new release, targeted for the Windows platform!

    • Windows Dll loading security issue, in Qt4 and dmo modules - VideoLAN-SA-1005
    • Fix for folders opening issue on Windows
    • Updated translations

    Love this player. For all my videos. My old one plays fine though. Wondering if the lil fixes are worth actually downloading.

    i figured. But since mine is not broken. Why fix whats not broken. Im gonna wait it out and see if i NEED to update one day. Good post tho.

    I wish I stayed with 1.1.0. Had everything working include PGS and XSUB subtitle support. Then I upgraded. No matter what I do, restore point, registry scrub and reinstall, every version I put on my 32 bit W7 machine crashes as soon as I touch it now. 1.1.0 is still working perfectly on Vista64. Totally bizarre.

    If it ain't broke is good advice. :)
