2009? No Way! Yes Way! Windows 7 Time baby

I can't believe that 2009 is finally here. So will Windows 7. I hope it is better than Vista in every way. I know Microsoft can pull it off. I hope the taskbar color can be changed by tweaking some Windows settings. I love the black thing, don't wanna throw it away. I hope Windows 7 does come in June or early July and not delayed for another year. I don't want a truck load of confirmation queries saying that I may want to do this or that. And security could be better. I don't want some screwed up system to prevent piracy because it only ends up hurting the ones who actually buy the software like me. And this activation, etc is not my thing. Make the program, put it on DVDs and sell with serial keys in a document in the package box and let people use it. No need for all these messages and activations. I want a one shot deal. Microsoft ain't gonna lose out but if they continue it's gonna be like DRM and everyone will be frustrated.

Happy New Year and hope for all the best With Windows 7.

Hopefully Windows 7 will be released in 2009. One thing I know people hate is this activation thing in Windows Vista and the constant confirmation requests. I wonder if MS will remove that crap and let people use one serial key for their copy of Windows in Windows 7. Instead of activating and re-registrating which is dumb! They make it hard for me when I have to use the stuff legally.

I do wonder though if Windows Seven will be easy of hard to get in terms of valid copies. And will all these betas and pre-releases from Microsoft here and there mean that they may be giving Windows away for some reason. Either to test the new OS and actually loosening the grip over Windows. Bittorrent had Vista on it quite early so will the same happen to 7?

    My .02

Officially, the public beta will be early 2009, with a hard cut-off of August 2009 for the beta software. My money is on a May/June/July full release. Sure there are some things that need to be fixed. Software developers need to make sure they are Windows 7 compatible. But 98% of my vista and pre-vista software runs on Windows 7. So I don't think compatibility is going to slow the release down. I think Microsoft has done an excellent job with their new OS. Midnight release in the future? I'll be there
