    Windows7 Automatically Uninstalls Problem Programs?

    I had Installed:
    • Adobe Creative Suite CS3
    • Yahoo Instant Messanger v9
    • Deamon Tools (latest version)
Out of the blue something hung, BSOD, reboot and I did a "Check for Problems". It did it's thing and moments later it booted just fine.

Windows 7 seems to have removed these programs without warning.
I don't mind that if there was a problem it removed them, but at least tell me or let me know about the problem? How about a log file heh? Seven told me nothing.

All the Program Groups shortcuts were gone but the folders remained for Adobe CS3 Suite with no executables (I think the folders and such were locked perhaps)
Deamon Tools I understand has issues, so not a big deal that it got removed
Yahoo IM removed thogh? ... very weird.

Is this normal behavior? And before you say it ... no I dont have any viruses. I use AVG Free v8.5 and Malwarebytes - Fresh OS install just a few days ago.

Hi pchaXor, welcome to the forums.

Were all 3 programs running at the same time? It could be that the crash had corrupted the EXE files, in which case they may have been deleted.
