Have you checked event viewer to see if you are getting "sidebyside" errors?

i've got a w960. the weird thing with it is that "my phone explorer" shouldn't have been able to synch with my phone because pc suite couldn't detect it.
This has nothing to do with Windows 7, I've had that happen even on Windows XP, even when using Bluetooth too... Same symptions, I'm able to navigate the phone (and the M2 flash card) from my PC (and transfer stuff to it freely) but SE PC Suite won't connect, my Widcomm BT drives say the phone isn't connected either, and the phone itself is saying that the BT connection is failing as well... So basically nothing's working yet I can navigate and transfer files normally, lol.

W580i here btw. As you said, simply restarting the services fixes it right up... It's only happened twice to me, dunno what caused it really.

Btw, have any of you using SE phones tried an alternative to SE's PC Suite? I heard some good things about 'MyPhoneExplorer' from FJ Soft, haven't bothered to try it yet though. Mostly I've just been using the SE PC Suite to create backups of my calendar (had the phone die once already when I wasn't making backups, what a PITA)... But I wanted to start sync'ing said calendar/contacts with Outlook or Thunderbird (and then sync either w/Gcal), was wondering if SE PC Suite worked well in this regard.

I haven't tried connecting wireless with my SE on PC Suite but most everything else works fine otherwise except for the seemingly harmless Windows 7 errors in Event Viewer.

However, after I download MP3's I have a need to change the mp3 "title" attribute on the downloaded mp3 file so that it sorts correctly in my phone. I'm not sure whats going on but after you change the title and then hit the save changes button it literally takes several minutes of hour glass and frozen PC before the machine lets go again and the change actually gets made. The title changes actually take longer than the downloads. Anyone know a way around this and whats going on here? Is the problem in the phone in this case?

i use "My Phone Explorer" all the time. It's a great tool. However, you need to have m-router connected for it to sync properly.

do you mean changing the name of the mp3 on your phone or on your PC? the best thing to do is to change the name on your pc (i just use WMP to change the title, add album art etc) then copy the files to my w960i.

Changing it on the memory card in the phone. I'm downloading from Internet web sites. I know you can change it easily on the PC but if I do that I have to first download the files to the PC and then to the phone. Involves two transfers for each file.
