Neil,

FYI. Below is the header of the DQSDLaunch.html file that DQSD passwes to the browser. This example is doing a GOOGLE search for "TEST SEARCH".

It may be useful to check SeaMonkey's settings.

<html><body onload="document.ggf.submit();">
<!--Searching...-->

<FORM method=get name=ggf action=http://www.google.com/search target=_self><INPUT name=hl type=hidden> <INPUT name=cat type=hidden> <INPUT name=meta type=hidden> <INPUT name=num type=hidden> <INPUT name=ie value=utf-8 type=hidden> <INPUT name=q value="TEST SEARCH" type=hidden> </FORM>
</body></html>

Neil,

Check for "NOSCRIPT" and "WHITELIST" setting in SeaMonkey....

[ext] NoScript 1.1.7 - "SilverNight" &bull; mozillaZine Forums

That is an old thread but may still be relevant.

Good Luck!

Muad Dib,

Before I read your last email I found the problem and you are right. The problem has to do with the NoScript add-on. When I disabled NoScript everything worked as it should. Since I was just looking at NoScript I've removed it.

Thank you very much for your help.

I am glad it worked out.

I have yet to find a desktop search tool as convienent, or as powerful and flexible, as Dave's Quick Search.

Happy searching!

I found this article that suggested I add file:// to NoScript's WhiteList. I reinstalled NoScript and added file:// NoScript's WhiteList.

Everything is working OK after a week.

Nice catch Neil! I have added your info to the installation instructions as an addendum for SEAMONKEY users.

I just had to reinstall Window 7 64bit Home Ptremium on my LapTop. I dowloaded dqsdx64-4100-beta, unzipped it to a temp directory, and ran setupx64.cmd. It created the directory C:\Program Files\Quick Search Deskbar. I was able to add QuickSearch to the toolbar. But, now I can't delete the temp directory. I think I need to uninstall it and try again.

Can you help??? I am unable to find anything on uninstalling the 64bit version.

There is no automated "uninstall" option on the 64-bit kit.

To remove it turn off the Quick Search toolbar by unchecking it in the Taskbar>Toolbar options list and then deleting the C:\Program Files\Quick Search Deskbar folder. Reboot and then CCleaner should be able to clean unused registry entries if needed.

But is your only problem removing then TEMP directory used during install? What error message are you getting when you attempt to delete it?
