Not if you get the zip version. No install required, just place the extracted exe wherever you want and run once and it is good to go

With Foxit open click on Help and the click on "Set as default", if it doesn't do it automatically (can only see it not doing that if there is another PDF reader already present).

I haven't used adobe reader in over a year. The only thing I need in PDFs in windows is a PDF reader, and foxit displays much faster than adobe.. not to mention all the extra bloat and the unnecessary service and running processes that come with anything from adobe. 10.5 MB for foxit, vs 250+ for adobe.. they can get bent...

You are comparing peaches and oranges. Adobe reader (including air) is around 50 mb compared to Foxit's 10.

You cant compare Foxit with Adobe acrobat pro, they are in a different class.

The download is 50MB.. the installed reader is about 250

Not too mention that Pro is severe overkill for most people. When comparing the free Reader to Foxit, Foxit wins hands down.

I wasn't even talking about acrobat.. I've never used it, never installed it and never will... see the edited post above

The gnome version of openoffice writer does most of what the average person needs acrobat for, including creating and editing PDFs, doesn't require an internet connection to function, and is completely free.
