With 7 there is nothing to clean. This is not XP.

[Opinion] Even Vista and Windows 7 still have things that can be cleaned. Just because its more advanced than XP does not make it perfect. [/Opinion]

You are both right.

If you know what your doing and go item by item.

Most people just hit clean which can be bad even on XP with some reg cleaners.

One thing I have found just a few months ago was how useful Win Disk Cleanup is.
That is something everyone should use occasionally to rid themselves of temp files.

When I installed my pre SP-1 XP retail recently and downloaded all the service packs etc. there was over 1.3GB of temp files. That is right GigaB.
1300MB of temp files.

Even on my XP I check each one and if it is something I don't know I leave it be.

Now my old XP and Adobe. They ought to make an Adobe cleaner part of the Adobe software. Adobe registry Roomba!

Went to FoxIt with this PC.
I also use Foxit. I try to avoid Adobe when ever possible. It is is so invasive with the updated.

Win 7, as with any other system, does need maintenance and cleaning obsolete and temporary files is at the top of the list. What Win 7 does not need is registry maintenance.
