My earliest restore point is about 9 months too late.

Did you follow the instructions or do you think that you may have done something wrong?

That goes a long way in my book

At this point, given that it is an OEM system, I would consider a clean install. Any system will run better this way, than compared to how it comes from the OEM. If you don't want to do this, or can't do this, you should have restore discs (or should have made them) when you bought the computer. I'd consider backing up your data, and restore.

But the restore won't work, because the problem was before the earliest restore date. And my laptop didn't come with any Windows 7 install disk, so I can't reinstall Windows. :/

Is there any other way to reinstall windows 7, or set it to original settings?
