Missing file after install

Hey guys,
I recently uninstalled a program and reinstalled the newest version. When I reinstalled the program a licencing .dll file should have been installed into /system32, however this doesnt happen? I need this file to be able to run the program.

I am running windows 7 x64 and the previous version worked fine, and this version was only a minor update so nothing should be changed in terms of compatibility. I have installed the new version on another PC running XP and it works fine.

If you have any hints or suggestions as to what could be going wrong it would be very appreciated.

you may need to clean out the registry

- sometimes "stubs" are left over from earlier installations..
- this may be why your new installation is failing to boot correctly..

I use CCleaner, which you can download for free (or a donation..) - it's very quick
just do search for it on Google - it's been recommended by Microsoft in the past..
Download and install it, then run it - you'll see a symbol on the left below the paintbrush:



when run, it examines the registry for anomolies and scrubs them out for you..

I would uninstall the program first - and then run the cleaner
then re-install the program all over again.. hopefully any stubs will have been cleaned out..


PS. if you have problems with CCleaner, get back - but it's quite easy to use..

I followed your advice but it still did not work. Im pulling my hair out over this one I have no idea whats wrong?

aren't licensing files normally kept in the program directory?
check if it's still in the recycling bin
