Auto-hide Taskbar Not Working With WLE 2011

The auto-hide taskbar doesn't work when a full-screen email is viewed. Is this the experience for others or is it just my PC (Dell desktop Inspiron 545, 6M Ram)?

Just installed WLE 2011 - from Windows Update - KB 2434419 .... I only have the Email portion installed (so only used that part).

When the 'main' page (ie the 'new' emails and the folders) is displayed, the taskbar is ok (ie when the cursor is moved to the bottom, the taskbar is displayed - otherwise it's hidden).

BUT, when an email is displayed full-screen, the auto-hidden taskbar is not displayed when the cursor is moved to the bottom.

I unchecked the auto-hide option, and the taskbar appears on the full-screen display and apps can be3 launched OK.

Is there a setting for this?

    OK - Fixed ... How? Don't know

The only thing I did that was unusual was to disconnect the Internet (was using it in 'wired' mode on wife's laptop - instead of wireless - due to router reset). That should not have affected WL Mail (jury is still out on 2011 version of WL Mail ... OE6 is missed) but stranger things have happened with MS programs.

Bottom line - I'm happy .... so far.

I guess this isn't resolved after all. Still cannot get taskbar when an email is displayed full-screen ... but available from 'main' screen.

    Any ideas??

Having the same problem. Very odd. Would love to know if you come up with an answer and will likewise let you know if I do.

I am using a new HP DM3T with Win7 64 bit and Windows Live Mail 2011.

Try this. Seems to maybe have worked for me. With WLM open try unchecking the auto-hide task bar. Then open an email and see if the taskbar shows. It should. Then go back down to the task bar and right click and re-check auto hide task bar. Now roll over and see if it shows. It should. Now close WLM and re-open. Double check that the task bar is showing when you roll over it. Mine is now.

Thank you. timber, for the suggestion.

It seems to work - I say 'seems' bcs for most emails it works. 'Seems' to be email depend. Go figure.

I've also found that making the full screen for emails not quite 'full screen' seems to work (most of the time). (The 'main page' - ie a display of the inbox - is truly full screen but when an individual email is dbl-clicked, it is opened in a window that's a little smaller than full screen. This is done once manually and the size set ... the next time the size is still a little smaller -- and the auto-hide works.)

Bottom line, one of these methods seems to work ....... maybe.
So, once again, this problem seems to be resolved.
