I may have missed something but
1) What monitor are you using?
2) Why are you installing on a laptop?

Monitor is LP156WH2-TLQ1 (a LED screen), as part of my Pavillion laptop. Why install on a laptop---thought it would be a good idea as there are no buttons (other than brightness: Fn>F7 or 8) and I wanted contrast control.

This appears to be an LG-Philips monitor. MagicTunePremium is supplied by Samsung for Samsung monitors only as far as I am aware.
Even people with Samsung monitors have experienced problems (as a google search shows).
Maybe there is some other software for your monitor.

Finally solved the 'No contrast" problem, there is a program/driver from Intel (graphics and media control panel/graphics media accelerator hd) that gives you control for adjusting the picture quality of your monitor's screen. It comes with the computer and I had to find this out from HP.

When you have the correct info a lot of things are really quite simple. Pity you had to jump through hoops to get the info - but worked out in the end.

In an effort to calibrate my monitor (Samsung 173p), I had to dl its control application (MagicTune). When I tried to use the app, there were several things that were not available, so I tried to uninstall the app. To uninstall I used the W7 uninstall program. Well, MagicTune no longer appears in...
