    Mailwasher Pro and Notification Area

I cannot get Mailwasher Pro to always "show" in the notification area. I don't have any problems with any other program in how it's setup - just Mailwasher Pro.

I want it to be set for "Show icon and notifications" but most of the time when I start Mailwasher Pro it will start in the default mode "only show notifications" but even if I get an e-mail I don't get the notification. I reset it to "show icon and notifications" and it's OK until I reboot and start Mailwasher then it may or may not keep the "show icon and notification" setting.

I suspect it's a Mailwasher issue rather than a Win 7 issue but I'm posting in case someone has a fix for it.

I'm running v6.51 on Win7 64bit and have no problems at all with the program.

It will notify me when an email comes in and it will play a custom sound (Meep Meep just like the Road Runner) and the icon flashes at the same time.

I have V 6.5.3 (I think the latest version). I have all system sounds turned off as I also use my PC for my recording studio and I can't have potential system sounds interferring with recording. When I have my recording program (Sonar) set up, I exit Mailwasher (and any browser, etc) as I want Sonar to have exclusive use of the system.

With M/W set to "show icons and notification" it will blink when I get a message.

I looked at the M/W forum and I see others with the same issue posted there, but no responses to the posts. I didn't have the problem in Vista so I would suspect it's a compatibililty issue with M/W and Windows 7 or at least Windows 7 64 bit.

I "Think" I have the problem fixed by running Mailwasher Pro in Vista compatibility mode. Since implementing the compatibility mode I have no problems keeping the application set to "show icons and notification".

Update the change to running in Vista compatibility has fixed the notification area problem with Mailwasher Pro.

This problem has been bugging me for months.
Finally a solution after spending ages googling.

    Thanks heaps Fireberd.

I tried it in Vista SP2 compatibility mode - it didn't work.
I now have it "Vista" (only) mode and it's been behaving for a few hours - looking good.
