Windows 7 - Applications taking very long to start up

    Hi all,

Recently I've encountered a strange problem; it's not reproducible but happens from time to time.

When I attempt to open an application (be it opening a PDF (Adobe Reader), or firing up Chrome), the mouse shows the spinning icon beside the pointer, but the application does not start up. This can take up to a minute before the application fires up.

When I check the Task Manager for my application, I see that the appliation starts, but only takes up 100kb of memory, and stays that way for a while before increasing, and that's when the application loads.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks :)

Did you try re-installing the app? If that didn't work, try running chkdsk /f, disk defragmentation (i recommend Puran Defrag) and memory diagnostic.

It's most likely because of Kaspersky 9.0.0.736. Close it and try.

Try Refreshing your PC, also delete or close unused applications and files, hope this helps.
